The ‘I Choose and My Journey’ event, aimed at Year 11 students, was once again hosted by the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation (MEYR). Students had yet another chance to investigate their possibilities for post-compulsory education and employment. The event’s goal is to provide students the chance to think about their academic and career options. Professionals from a range of sectors, including Information and Communication Technology, among others, were invited to participate to entice students to make the right career choice.
The eSkills Malta Foundation participated in this week-long event in accordance with one of the Foundation’s goals, which is to “increase awareness among students on the career options and skills required for ICT jobs.” Students with an interest in ICT had the chance to stop by the eSkills Malta Foundation’s stand to learn more about ICT-related vocations.
There were 4,500 pupils representing state schools from all around the island. The kids’ intense attention and engagement during the entire week augurs well for the activity’s intended motivational effect.
