The increasing digitisation going on around us, both at the place of work and at home means that many adults need to catch up. As a result, workers are increasingly finding new digital technologies and terms being regularly introduced in their working environments.
Many times this raises the concern of sustainable employability and also issues to HR and senior managers that need to have a workforce prepared with relevant skills and a 21st Century mindset able to cope with these on-going changes.
As outlined by the European Union’s The Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition policy, there is a need to provide a means for up-skilling and re-skilling of European workers.
In correlation with this mission, on Friday 19th July, MECB EU Projects partner organised a business breakfast seminar for individuals interested in understanding the impact of digital skills on 21st Century employment needs.
Some of the speakers present for this event were: Carm Cachia Chief Administrator eSkills Malta Foundation, Joe Tanti CEO Malta Business Bureau, Jonathan C. Borg CEO MECB Ltd, Marija E. Borg MBB and Joanna Ellul MECB Ltd.
During the afternoon a discussion panel chaired by Joe Tanti discussed the topic Towards Fostering Digital Skills.
