Signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the PES – Huawei on training unemployed women in new information technologies

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on 9 December 2022 by the Governor of the Public EmploymentService(DYPA), Spyros Proposaltis, and CEO Balkan Region Huawei, Ren Fujun.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to promote cooperation between the two institutions in order to achieve the following objectives: 

• bridging the gap between information and communication technology (ICT) knowledge and skills
• providing training and educational solutions meeting the demands of industry in the ICT sector. In particular, specialised seminars will be offered in the field of routing and switching as well as the development of social skills of the workforce
• creating a talent ecosystem in the ICT sector and supporting the existing ICT workforce
; promoting the education of unemployed women in digital skills
; and• supporting efforts to harness ICT, in the PES.

Finally, the cooperation includes training five hundred (500) unemployed women in ICT literacy and courses by certified partners from Huawei Certified ICT Associates. Upon completion of the courses, participants will be able to obtain certification following an examination.
