Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems have been steadily increasing their presence and uptake across all industry sectors. Recent advancements in AI, particularly generative AI, have resulted in a lot of excitement from the private sector, technologists, investors, policymakers, and society. In this regard, from a regulatory compliance perspective, the industry must be prepared for the adoption and impact of these AI tools, technologies, and products, The anticipation is that this latest AI development will be a game-changer. This course shall focus on providing participants with a better understanding of the following topics:

• Current state of AI and the latest advancements
• Industries and potential use cases for each respective sector where AI and the latest language models, such as ChatGPT (an example of generative AI), can be applicable
• Major industry-specific risks and concerns to be aware of when adopting and using some AI algorithms and techniques within AI systems, e.g., the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) language model behind ChatGPT which uses deep learning
• Proposed AI controls to safeguard AI systems in terms of the data and algorithms used
• New laws and regulations, such as the EU AI Act, and their impact on society at large and across different industry sectors
• AI Governance assessment and implementation that can be carried out for managing risks and controls in AI solutions
